Greg graduated from Tyler Junior College in 1995 with an Associate in Applied Science Computer Aided Drafting Degree. Upon Graduation Greg entered into architectural design and development field where he spent the next 15 years in various capacities from designer to commercial construction project manager to real estate Broker.
In 2010 he joined the City of Jacksonville Texas as a code enforcement officer. Over the next five years Greg earned numerous certifications including ICC Residential Building, Plumber, Electrical Inspector as well as a Texas State Plumbing Inspector license.
In 2015 Greg left the City of Jacksonville for a short stint as City Administrator for the City of Huntington Texas. He then returned to the city of Jacksonville as City Clerk later that year.
Greg has been happily married for 30+ years. He and his wife Kelly have two sons.
As City Clerk, Greg Lowe is the administrator of the City's official records, including recording and maintenance. He maintains and categorizes official City documents and records including ordinances, resolutions, contracts, easements, deeds, judgments, and budgets.
The City Clerk processes the official publication of notices and ordinances, and prepares Council agendas, ordinances and resolutions. He attends all Council meetings and takes the official minutes of each meeting. Greg answers inquiries from the public and City officials. The City Secretary oversees all municipal elections, general and special. He files and maintains all leases of the City at Lake Jacksonville and industrial parks and maintains deed records for the City's cemeteries. The City Clerk also writes all proclamations for the City and preserves the official City Seal.
