In October 2021, the Library Association met and considered donating $100,000 to the City for the renovation of the exterior of the library. The organization granted the City $2,500 to have design concepts created for consideration.
Timeline is to be determined following recommendations by Jennings Architects.
Jennings Architects attended the City Council Workshop on December 7 to receive direction from the City Council on how they would like to proceed and to gain feedback regarding the proposed design concept.
Staff engaged Jennings Architects to begin development of construction plans and cost estimates.
At the June 13th City Council meeting, the City Council allocated $100,000 to the library facade project from American Rescue Plan Act dollars.
The Library Association met and selected design concept 2 with some modifications and granted the City $5,000 to secure an architect to develop construction plans and cost estimates. The design was initially estimated to cost approximately $250,000.
