The Finance Department provides financial management leadership, oversight, reporting and services for the City. The department collects and records revenue; prepares, coordinates and monitors the City's operating and capital budgets; and invests City funds to achieve maximum returns. It is responsible for accurate accounting of financial transactions, periodic reporting of financial transactions for the City, providing accounting internal controls, working with auditors, and processing and distributing vendor and payroll checks.
The City of Jacksonville's Finance Director is Freddy Thomas. Mr. Thomas is a 1980 graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Business Administration. He acquired his CPA in 1991.
