Andrew Hawkes

Chief Hawkes has been in law enforcement for over 25 years.  He began his career as a dispatcher for the Rockwall Police Department in 1990, became a deputy sheriff for the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office from 1992-1998, was a police officer with the Grapevine Police Department  from 1998-2001, and a Lieutenant with the Collin County Sheriff’s office for 15 years.  His experience spans multiple areas of law enforcement.

Chief Hawkes is a published author and a past monthly columnist for policeone.com, the largest law enforcement website in the U.S.  Chief Hawkes has been awarded the K9 Officer of the year for the State of Texas, Law Enforcement officer of the Year by the Rockwall Rotary Club, and he is the recipient of the Collin County Employee of the year award for 2012.


Among other awards, Chief Hawkes is the recipient of the Medal of Valor, Medal of Heroism, and the Law enforcement commendation medal.  Chief Hawkes holds both a bachelors and Master’s degree in criminal justice administration and leadership, and is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas.
