Director of Communications and Tourism, Daniel Seguin
Daniel began his career in Communications with TBG Solutions Inc., a firm out of Tyler, where he worked for 6 years. During that time, he developed and managed their web pages, developed marketing materials, developed videos, managed the transition to a new CRM, trained staff, and developed and presented training programs for clients across the State. Daniel holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Political Science from East Texas Baptist University. He comes to the City of Jacksonville from the East Texas Council of Governments where he served as a Regional Disaster Economic Recovery Coordinator for just over 1 year.
As a millennial growing up in the information age, Daniel has first-hand knowledge of social media, digital marketing, and digital brand management. as the Director of Communications and Tourism, Daniel is responsible for city websites, city social media pages, all communications with the media, advertisements and marketing materials for the city and city-sponsored events, Love's Lookout volunteers, and the development of tourism within the city.
Daniel is a newlywed husband and foster dad. Outside of the City of Jacksonville, Daniel is a Trainer/Consultant for TBG Solutions Inc., he runs a small business developing websites, he is a Leadership Tyler Alumnus, and a volunteer at CASA for Kids of East Texas.
Communications
This role within the City of Jacksonville works closely with all departments and covers a multitude of areas, including website design and maintenance, social media awareness and management, media relations, and education of city services by utilizing multiple platforms. There is also a focus on increasing engagement within the community through the use of events, educational awareness, and creating a dialogue with the citizens.
