  1. Functions

    The Library and Museum Director reports monthly to the Library Advisory Board, the Museum Board, and annually to the Jacksonville City Library Association.  Libraries and museums can be storehouses of knowledge and making sure those materials are available to the public is the basis of much of what a library and museum director does.  The director promotes literacy activities for all ages and participates in community organizations and events on behalf of the library.  Duties also include:

    • Preparing annual budgets and responsible for the operation of the library & museum under the financial conditions set forth in the annual budget.
    • Administering policies of the library as adopted by the Library Board
    • Responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the library and Museum
    • Supervising library and museum staff and provide regular performance feedback.
    • Suggests and carries out plans extending the museum & library’s services
    • Secures and retains library certification

     Biography
    Trina Loyd Stidham was employed by the City of Jacksonville in January 2014 with 16 years managerial experience.  Trina has been a Jacksonville resident for almost 20 years.  Trina received her BA at the University of Texas at Tyler, and a MA and M Ed from Stephen F. Austin State University.
